The new DuraGlide-AGV Series is Hamilton’s answer to heavy-duty wheels for AGVs (automated guided vehicles) and other continuous duty applications.
Hamilton engineers began with our standard DuraGlide polyurethane tread and upgraded the cores of the larger wheels from cast iron to indestructible forged steel. The forged steel centers not only added strength and durability but also allowed engineers to spec larger precision ball bearings better suited to handle the 24/7 operation. Top-hat bushings are press-fit into the precision bearings to eliminate axial play and significantly reduce noise, especially when changing direction.
Like the standard DuraGlide, the DuraGlide-AGV has 1” thick 95A of dynamically responsive polyurethane that rolls up to 40% easier than most other poly wheels. DuraGlide poly runs much cooler than most polyurethanes resulting in an excellent wheel for AGV’s.
DuraGlide’s thicker tread also reduces heat stress on the bond line. And because there’s more polyurethane to compress, the psi pressure is lower and therefore the urethane endures less stress fatigue for longer life.
