Save Time in Your Medical Office When Moving Supplies

Medical technicians and assistants often spend more time on their feet, pushing carts from one corridor to the next, than they do at their desks. If you’ve found that there seem like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything you need done or if you often have to get supplies to rooms in a hurry, it’s worth taking a moment to figure out how to make moving suppliers simpler and faster.

Replace the Casters

Ordering new medical casters for all of your carts can help to improve the flow of your office. Over time, carts pick up debris on their wheels and otherwise wear down, and new casters will make it so the carts don’t get stuck when you’re pushing them and don’t drag on carpet. If a cart keeps requiring you to back up before you can successfully push forward, stop wasting precious seconds when you’re in a hurry. The problem is likely related to the casters.

Add Bumpers

If you have to carefully maneuver through tightly packed hallways and keep the carts away from the walls for fear they’ll knock over your cart’s contents, you won’t be able to reach the full speed you and your cart are capable of. Adding bumpers makes it so your cart won’t cause damage or shake too much if you accidentally hit something.

Whenever possible, load less things on your cart at once. While you may think it’ll add time to your day if you have to go back and forth to load and unload, but if your cart is too heavy, it’ll be more difficult and slower to push.

Ask an Access Casters representative for more information on how to keep your office’s carts and medical casters in top shape.
